Lufthansa, the German flag carrier and one of the leading business-class airlines flying to India, has launched a new route to Bangalore as part of its network growth goals. Starting November 3, 2023, three weekly Lufthansa flights to Bengaluru's Kempegowda Airport will depart from Munich.
The new route will run alongside the present shuttle from Frankfurt to India's IT powerhouse. Furthermore, the service between Munich Airport and BLR Airport is believed to facilitate connections on Lufthansa flights to and from 20 US destinations, alleviating the capacity problem at the airline's principal hub, Frankfurt.

The Lufthansa Group intends to launch a new route from Frankfurt to Bangalore via Switzerland. Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), the flag carrier of Switzerland and a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group, serves direct flights to seven US cities, including Boston, Chicago, Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York JFK. If the route from Switzerland to Bengaluru is launched, SWISS would operate it. Interestingly, the "Stopover Switzerland" program is one of the benefits of flying on SWISS between the United States and India.
