Information about Delhi Airport

Delhi’s primary civilian airport is called the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI). It’s about 10 miles away from the city’s primary railway station, New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS) and the city’s center. It is among the top 20 busiest airports in the world. Terminal 3 at the airport is majorly used for international arrivals and departures while Terminal 1C and 1D are primarily used for domestic arrivals and departures respectively.

Ground connectivity with the airport is very well-established with Palam and Shahabad Mohammadpur railway stations close-by. From these stations, you can board a train to the city’s nodal stations and junctions such as New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station, Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, Anand Vihar, Delhi Cantt., and Delhi Sarai Rohilla.

The airport’s international terminal (Terminal 3) is also connected to the Delhi Airport Metro Express train line. The metro station’s name is Airport Metro Station and from there, the metro can take you to the city center/NDLS in about 25 minutes. Along with the international terminal, the domestic terminal of the airport is also connected to the city metro with the Terminal 1-IGI Airport metro station of Delhi Metro's Magenta Line.

As far as road connectivity is concerned, the airport can be easily accessed by the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway/National Highway 8 which is an 8-lane road with swiftly moving traffic. More so, air-conditioned low-floor buses also ply regularly between the Airport and the city. Prepaid taxis, radio taxis, cab services such as Uber, Ola, and others are also available from the airport’s terminals.
