Annual average temperature is 82.4 °F (28 °C) and the average yearly precipitation is 66 in (1,687 mm). The islands’ average minimum temperature is 66.9 °F (19 °C) and the average maximum temperature is 85.4 °F (30 °C).

Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan is Puerto Rico’s biggest international airport. Other international airports on the archipelago are Mercedita Airport in Ponce and Rafael Hernández Airport in Aguadilla. Airports primarily serving as domestic airports in Puerto Rico are Benjamín Rivera Noriega Airport on the island of Culebra, Eugenio María de Hostos Airport, four miles north of Mayagüez, Humacao Airport near the city of Humacao, and Antonio Rivera Rodríguez Airport on the island of Vieques.

Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport: It is situated in suburban Carolina, three miles southeast of San Juan. It is known as the gateway to the Caribbean and is the busiest airport in the region in terms of passenger traffic. It is a focus airport for airline carriers like JetBlue Airways and a hub for Cape Air, Air Sunshine, and Seaborne Airlines too. There are five terminals at the airport - A, B, C, D, E. There are taxis and rental cars available at the airport for ground transport. In the city, you can use Tren Urbano which is the metropolitan area’s passenger train service.

Mercedita Airport: Located three nautical miles from the center of Ponce, it is mainly located in the region’s Vayas barrio. There are plans to build a major seaport in the area. The major passenger airline serving the airport is JetBlue Airways flying to and fro New York - JFK and Orlando.

The San Juan port, Port of Ponce, and Port of Mayagüez are the major seaports in Puerto Rico while minor ports and harbors are present in Guánica, Guayanilla, Guayama, Fajardo, Culebra, and Vieques. Ferries are available between Fajardo, Culebra, and Vieques, between Ponce and Caja de Muertos (Coffin Island), and between San Juan and Cataño.
