DAY 01 Arrive Rome

Welcome to Italy the land of the Mystique! On arrival in Rome, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel by a private vehicle. Rome is more than a fascinating European capital city; it is a spectacular encyclopedia of living history. The whole experience of Rome is so powerful as to be almost overwhelming at times. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this magnificent city on your own.

The evening is free at leisure; why not discover the city of Rome on an Illuminated Tour (optional). Rome comes alive at night and you should not miss the opportunity to see its most beautiful monuments illuminated.

The tour starts from Via Veneto, the street of La Dolce Vita fame, and continues to Piazza Barberini with the Triton Fountain by Bernini, and on to Piazza Venezia with the Victor Emanuel monument. We also see Via dei Fori Imperiali, the Colosseum, the Arch of Constantine, the Palatine, the Temple of Vesta, the Theatre of Marcello, the Capitol, Tiberine Island, the Synagogue, Castel St. Angelo, and St. Peter's Square and Basilica. DAY 02 Rome

Monumental Rome (Seat In Coach)

A perfect introduction to the Eternal City! You will start off by driving up the Via Veneto, portrayed in Fellini's La Dolce Vita, and will take a turn around the Fountain of the Naiads in the Piazza della Repubblica.

Leaving the bus, you will go on foot to visit the glorious Trevi Fountain, the largest Baroque fountain in the city. You will also find beautiful fountains in the Piazza Navona. This square follows the shape of a former stadium that existed on this site in the first century AD. The piazza features masterpieces such as the famous Fountain of the Four Rivers (1651) by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. You then will see the Piazza ColonnaColumn of Marcus Aurelius which has stood there since 193 AD. The bronze statue of Saint Paul atop the column was placed there in 1589, by order of Pope Sixtus V.

The tour will take you inside the Pantheon, commissioned by Marcus Agrippa as a temple to all the gods of ancient Rome and later rebuilt by the Emperor Hadrian. It is one of the best preserved of all Roman buildings and still has the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world. You will then re-board your bus and proceed to St. Peter's Square passing the Castel Sant'Angelo, Emperor Hadrian's mausoleum, on the way. Your guide will lead you into St. Peter's Basilica. This massive late Renaissance church can hold 60,000 people, and is one of the holiest sites in Christendom. In the first chapel on the right as you enter the Basilica, you will find Michelangelo's masterpiece La Pieta. This famous sculpture shows the body of Jesus on the lap of his mother Mary after the Crucifixion. Notice how the work balances the Renaissance ideals of classical beauty with naturalism.

You will spend about 35 minutes in St. Peter's Basilica. At the end of the tour, you will be dropped off at the Vastours Terminal .

Naples - Capri - Anacapri Tour (Seat In Coach)

You will travel south to the lively city of Naples and onto the lovely island of Capri. Board a motorboat for a tour of the Blue Grotto. The waters in the cave are a brilliant fluorescent blue. Next you will visit Anacapri, which offers wonderful views of the Bay of Naples. Following lunch, enjoy free time at shopping before returning to board the boat back to Naples.

Colosseum and Palantine Tour (Seat in Coach)

The tour starts with a panoramic view of the Colosseum from Colle Oppio before skipping the queue to enter the most symbolic of Rome's landmarks. An expert local guide will bring the bloody past of the amphitheatre to life as you listen to tales of gladiators, mock sea-battles and executions. You when then stop at the Arch of Constantine before entering the complex of the Palatine Hill - the most famous of Rome's hills. Romulus and Remus, the legendary founders of the city, were said to have been found here by the she-wolf who nursed and raised them. The last stop of the tour is a walk along the "Via Sacra" inside the Roman Forum and the tour ends at the Temple, which houses the altar where Julius Caesar was cremated.

DAY 03 Rome – Florence

This morning, travel by train to Florence, the birth place of Renaissance. Also known as the city of the lily, the fame of Florence rests on its age-old image as the Italian hub of Renaissance art and architecture in Europe. With statues and sculptures dotting the piazzas, domes and towers surpassing the height of the sky, palatial palazzi dominating the cityscape, Florence is a beautiful gallery full of gleam and glory, in itself. On arrival in Florence, proceed to your hotel.

The rest of the day is free to discover this breathtaking city on your own. In the afternoon enjoy an optional excursion to Pisa, home of the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Enjoy a walking tour of Pisa, including the area surrounding the famous tower.

A splendid excursion through the fertile and picturesque Tuscan countryside towards the historic university city of Pisa, famous for its architectural beauty. After a panoramic drive along the beautiful riversides, the tour proceeds with a guided tour to Piazza dei Miracoli to find the celebrated Leaning Tower, the Cathedral, an unequalled masterpiece of Romanesque art carried out between the 11th and 12th centuries, the Baptistery and other important monuments. You will then walk to Piazza dei Cavalieri, where the Scuola Normale, one of the most famous universities in the world, resides.

DAY 04 Florence – Venice>

DAY 05 Venice

Excursion to Murano, Burano & Torcello. (Shared Boat)

This morning enjoy an excursion to Murano, Burano & Torcello. Boarding a comfortable motor boat, you~ll speed along the Venetian lagoon to Murano, famous for its glassware. During the visit you~ll explore shops, factories and watch the skilled glass-blowers as they create works of art. You~ll also have time to visit a museum showcasing the world-famousMurano glass. Re-board your motor boat you~ll journey to the island of Burano to admire picturesque fishermen~s houses painted in bright pastel colors, and, of course, the famous lace. You can visit a museum dedicated to the craft of lace, and purchase the beautiful lace at local shops. The last island stop is Torcello, the earliest center of civilization in the Venetian lagoon. You~ll see the cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, founded in the 7th century, and the excavated remains of the circular baptistery in the church of Santa Fosca.

DAY 06 Venice – Innsbruck

This morning, you will transfer on your own to the Venice Train station to board your early morning train to the valley of Innsbruck, the capital of the Alps and an ideal base for touring Tirol and its neighbouring areas (2 hours). Upon arrival in Innsbruck you will transfer on your own to the hotel.

Today visit the Swarovski Crystal World in Wattens. A world of fantasy, an adventure museum with crystals, light and sound designs. The water spouting Giant (a remarkable huge face sculptured on top of a rock) will amaze you with his sparkling eyes! Inside the Giant, a whole crystal world awaits you: the Chambers of Wonders containing the Planet of Crystals, the Crystal Dome, the Crystal Theatre, the Ice passage and the Floating Poem.

DAY 08 Salzburg

Sound of Music tour including brief orientation tour of the city. (Seat in Coach) Relive the true story of the Von Trapp family which was filmed as the ~Sound of Music~ in the Salzburg area. The tour, which has been Salzburg~s most popular tour for over 20 years, is a combination of sightseeing in this historical city itself and in the beautiful lakes and mountains area known as the Salzkammergut, which is also a famous musical and cultural centre. DAY 09 Salzburg – Vienna

This morning, travel to Vienna by train.

Full Day Budapest Tour (Seat in Coach)

This day trip takes you to the 'Paris of the East'. Enjoy a guided city tour of Hungary's capital, where we will visit the Fishermen's Bastion with Mathias Church. You will also have the opportunity to stroll around the castle area. We then pass by the impressive House of Parliament and Heroes Square. Shop around the city before returning back to Vienna.

Full Day Prague Tour (Seat in Coach)

This morning your city tour will take you to Prague, the 'City of a Thousand Spires " showcasing Prague's main sights. Fianlly, drive to the castle area and visit the 'Hradschin', passing by Saint Vitus Cathedral and the well known Golden Lane.

Half Day Panorama and Danube Tour (Seat in Coach).

Enjoy a boat-trip on the mighty River Danube, to see the famous sights of Hundertwasser. Pass through modern Vienna with its impressive UN building and the Danube Tower en route for the northern part of the city, the 'Cobenzl' (or Northern Vienna Woods). From here you will have a marvellous panoramic view over Vienna. Then, passing by the picturesque little wine growing village of Grinzing, return back to the city centre.

Today, you will pass some of Vienna's most significant buildings like the Urania observatory, the Kunsthaus Wien and the Gasometer building on board the MS Vienna. After passing the modern Hydro Electric power plant Freudenau you will continue to the Reichsbruecke. Get a fabulous view of Vienna's tallest buildings - the UNO City, the Danube Tower (252m) and the Millenium Tower (202m). Appreciate the lock Nussdorf and the Thermal Waste Treatment Plant Spittela. On your return you will see the Rossau Barracks, the Vienna Ring Tower and the St. Rupert's Church, which is the oldest religious edifice of the city.
