Arrive Cochin latest by 11am and you will be picked up from Cochin airport and transferred to Munnar. Driving time is 5-6 hours.Check into the hotel. Munnar is a magnificent hill station in the Western Ghats at about 5000 feet above sea level. This is one of thebest hill stations in Kerala and is the major centre of Kerala's tea industry Munnar has lakes, forests and several tea estates.
Anaimudi, the highest peak in South India (2695 m/8883 ft.) is nearby major sightseeing attractions are the Kundale tea plantation,Eravikulam National Park, The High Range Club, Top Station, Mattuppetty, Devikulam, Rajamalai, Chithirapuram, Marayoor,Pallivasal/Pothamedu, etc.
After Breakfast, day at leisure to explore Munnar. Overnight at Hotel.
After breakfast, check out and proceed to Thekkady (approx 4hrs drive).
Arrive Thekkday and check into the hotel.
Thekkady in Kerala State, India’s largest wildlife sanctuary is a dream destination for any tourist visiting India . The 120 years old'Surki' dam built across Peryiar, Poorna in Vedic parlance, is a major tourist attraction. This sanctuary is spread over an area of777 Sq.Kms, surrounded by an artificial lake over an area of 25 Sq.Kms.
The Country's sole Tiger reserve, Thekkady, with its bountiful treasures of tropical flora and fauna is the ultimate reservoir of manyan endangered species and a rich tribal culture. Thekkady is a pleasant heaven on earth for those who love nature in its wildmanifestations.
Thekkady is famous for the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the best places for viewing wildanimals. The best time to visit animals is during the months of March, April and May. Thekkady offers facilities for Trekking,elephant riding and boating. Boating through the Placid Lake provides a rare opportunity to watch wild animals at close quarters.
After Breakfast, check out and proceed to Kumarakom (approx 4hrs drive).
Arrive Kumarakom and check in at Hotel.
Kumarakom, the queen of Vembanad, is a ‘resort’ destination. As Kumarakom is a popular backwater destination in Kerala, a houseboatcruise is a must-do activity for visitors. A boat cruise on the beautiful Vembanad lake is one of the best ways to enjoy bird watchingin the park. One can also enjoy wildlife photography at Pathiramanal - a small island on the lake. A little ahead of Kumarakom, youcan visit the backwater town of Kottayam – packed with rubber plantations and majestic old churches.
